A group of people connected together due to their geographical, cultural, traditional, religious similarities can be called a society. Applying a more broad or global approach to the word society gives us a group of varied individuals in an economic, social or industrial infrastructure. In a society individuals work to achieve different personal or social goals depending upon the individuals preferences in life. Human society is well organized social network.
In the period of Stone Age, men formed a group for the purpose of hunting. When agricultural developed, men started to live in a group thus civilization evolved. Man is a social animal and believes in the family structure of living, he believes in the highly structured organization that we live in that gives him an identity and a sense of security.
A society is also a group of individuals that comes together for a certain purpose or objective and works towards its fulfillment. The objective could anything from economic gain, cultural enrichment, social welfare etc. There are various social welfare societies that operate on a regional, national or international platform to work for a cause which serves the mankind. Some of the causes that these societies work towards are spread of education, providing shelter and food, imparting knowledge to people about social evils, providing medical facilities etc.

Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush; anxious for greater developments and greater wishes and so on; so that parents have very little time for their children and children have very little time for their siblings & parents and every body lives in a race resulting no peace no happiness.

We are PACT (Promise to Act for Children Today). We were registered with the Charity Commissioner in October 1997 and we support several projects, all of which focus primarily on street children and children living in slums. What we do is, financially support residential homes for street children and participate in funding day-care centers for street children. We also initiate educational programmes for girls from deprived slum communities.
