Entertainment is any act or performance which is pleasurable, amusing or diverting which people generally view in their leisure time. Entertainment makes us relax and provides a relief from our daily activities

There are various ways in which we can entertain ourselves like watching television, listening to music, cinema, opera, sports, interactive games, and dance or maybe just reading, listening to music etc, there is a wide choice of the available options and people have their own preferences. Every person indulges in some sort of entertainment according to his choice, it may be an active form of entertainment or passive but entertainment is the easiest way that one can relax.

Visiting public places like parks, gardens, beach fronts, city centres where people unwind with their family & friends is also a form of entertainment. In western countries, the city centre is a place where people meet and interact in the midst of live performances of dance, music, street plays etc.

The entertainment industry is also known as showbiz is a billion dollar industry worldwide, it is divided into many sub-industries employing thousands of people. It has become an important industry because of its high revenue generating capacity and popularity among the people.
